Our Professional Pet Care Specialists undergo extensive screening and processes before they are considered part of our team. We look for stellar references, a clean background check, a love for all animals, pet care experience, reliability, and a great character and moral compass.
Our sitters also participate in multiple interviews and a shadowing orientation on client directives before they receive their first solo assignment. We also require CPR & First Aid certification and signing the policies, procedures, and code of ethics in our employee handbook. There is no such thing as being too thorough, and YOU and your pets can never be too happy!

Hi!! My name is Katherine and I’m a pet sitter at Stay and Play Pet Sitting. I live in Murrieta.
I grew up on a farm in Eastern Idaho where I learned to take care of many different animals including horses, cows, and pigs. We always had cats and dogs and my family always called me a true animal lover. So it’s no surprise that I started my own pet sitting and dog walking business. I thoroughly enjoyed it for about 12 years. I had many great 4 and 2 legged clients. I am currently owned by 3 Basenjis (dogs). I love doing many activities with them – scent work, lure coursing and agility. I enjoy getting involved with the community and volunteering at the local shelter and rescue groups. I was a member of the local kennel club in Idaho where I taught classes and helped with matches and shows.

Hello! My name is Casey. I’m originally from Ventura and now I live in Murrieta. I grew up in house full of animals. When I was 14, I started showing and breeding pugs. Over the years I worked for some of the top professional handlers in the country where I learned so much about animal wellness, behavior, physical conditioning, grooming, training, presenting, recognizing injury or illness, safe traveling procedures and making sure the dogs in our care felt loved, cared for and stress free. I have experience with almost all of the breeds and understand their individual qualities. After 8 years in the dog show world, I worked as a Veterinary Technician in Los Angeles where I got to use my animal handling skills and expanded my knowledge of animal medicine and treatment. I built my dream ranch on 5 acres in Temecula where I had horses, goats, pigs, chickens and ducks. I also fostered other types of animals such as cows, donkeys and sheep when they were evacuated from their homes due to fires and other disasters. Throughout my life I have owned various birds (mostly parrot varieties and even a Toucan!), reptiles (Iguanas, Water Dragons, Leopard Geckos, Crested Geckos), Frogs, Rats, Ferrets, Guinea Pigs and Hampsters. Animals are my passion. Working with Stay and Play allows me to work with my favorite creatures big and small. I get so much satisfaction from knowing I have helped an animal as well as reduced the pet parent’s stress and anxiety about leaving their fur babies and home.
