Welcome, Pet People!
Hey there, thanks for clicking your way here! Consider this your official paw-five for being an awesome pet parent! I’m Rick from Stay and Play, and I’m here to share some juicy tidbits from my pet sitting certification that’ll help you keep your furballs safe, happy, and totally spoiled.
Safety First – Always!
Pets are like toddlers… who eat trash and can run 25 mph. So yes, please stop them from drinking mystery puddles, munching bark, or playing lava hopscotch on summer sidewalks. Don’t leave tiny objects lying around (choking hazard), keep doors closed (no furry Houdinis, please), and maybe ease up on blasting Metallica—those cute ears are very sensitive.
Rule of thumb: if it wouldn’t fly with a baby, it probably shouldn’t fly with your pet.

Why Sitters Rock (No Kennel Required)
Boarding can be pricey, stressful, and make your pet feel like you’ve run off to join the circus. Cats especially may plot your downfall. A pro sitter? They stay at your home, love your pets like their own, and also make it look like someone’s home (bye-bye, break-ins). We’re trained to handle meltdowns, meds, and even emergencies with a calm face and a lint roller in hand.
Diet, Decoded
Pets aren’t one-size-fits-all kibble munchers. Some need grain-free, some need gourmet, some want to eat your shoes. We’re trained to navigate food allergies, breed-specific diets, and how to politely suggest your Pomeranian might be more fluff than muscle. We highly recommend Life’s Abundance if you want your pet to live a longer, happier, healthier life. For more information please visit: stayandplaypetnutrition.com.

Got a Goat? We’re Good.
We don’t just do dogs and cats. Horses, rabbits, snakes, pigs, birds, lizards, fish, spiders… You name it, we’ve probably fed it. Lord Byron the Hyacinth Macaw? Odin the Great Iguana? Royalty in our book! If you love your critter, we do too—no matter how many legs (or none) they have.

End-of-Life, First Moments & Everything Between
We’re there for the first wag, the last cuddle, and every moment that matters. Having a trusted, trained pro by your side during big milestones—happy or heartbreaking—makes all the difference.
CPR Certified & Ready for Anything
Ticks? Heatstroke? Choking? A wild possum encounter? We’ve trained for it all. We’ve even learned how to talk to vets like pros (no panicked rambling), because in emergencies, every second counts.

TL;DR:
- Safety tips?
- Why sitters are better than kennels?
- Custom care for every species?
- Emergency prep & medical know-how?
I wish I’d learned all this before becoming a pet sitter and a husky dad. But hey, now you can!
